Think carefully about adopting an animal. Make sure that you will be able to take care of the animal properly in a few years. Photos and basic information about all animals that are currently looking for a new home can be found here. Attention! Cats, rabbits and guinea pigs are also looking for a new home…

The best way to get to know the dog better is to go for walks together. This way you will get to know its temperament and find out whether you are compatible with each other. At the shelter, discuss the dog’s temperament with a keeper, its health with a veterinarian and the possibility of taking precautions in case the dog runs away with an employee of the administrative office. If you are still not convinced, you can agree to take the dog home for a trial period, called a long dog walk, which lasts 14 days.

If you decide to adopt, bring your own collar, leash or dog carrier and after filling out the forms and paying the fees, the dog can go home with you. Remember that the animal can only be adopted by a person over 18 years old with a valid ID card. Only animals that have been treated by a vet, vaccinated and microchipped will go to their new home. These procedures and care are included in the adoption fee.

ADOPTION CONDITIONS

valid ID card
– person over 18 years old and

– suitable conditions:

Dogs and cats are pets and do not like loneliness. They need contact with people the most. For this reason, it is necessary to offer the animal the company of family members, daily activities (free movement, walks, games) as much as possible and to allow it access to the living areas of the house. Under no circumstances should the animal be left alone all day (in an apartment, in a kennel). In addition to equipment (dog bed, toys…), it needs proper veterinary care, must be obedient and, especially in the case of adopted animals, needs a lot of patience and love.

– If the dog is outdoors, it needs an insulated, sufficiently large kennel with a floor (preferably raised). We recommend daily walks and access to the house;

– If the dog is outdoors in a kennel – the kennel must be spacious and have an insulated/raised floor. It must allow it to see and have contact with the environment, and be equipped with an insulated, sufficiently large kennel that will protect it from the weather (direct sun, humidity, cold). The dog must be let out daily, walked and have access to the house;

– Dog in the apartment – must be walked regularly, equipment: collar, leash, dog bed, toys…

– The dog must not be kept on a chain!

– Daily feeding; the shelter staff or the attending veterinarian will be happy to give you information about suitable food and diets available;

– regular check-ups at the vet: health check, optional and mandatory vaccinations – rabies, regular deworming, dental care, etc. It is advisable to visit only a vet who will know the health status of your dog or cat from the beginning. Cats need a litter box. In addition to regular vaccinations and deworming, we recommend microchipping the kitten (especially if it is allowed to go outside).
